I liked the decor, the country gingham was sweet, and it made a difference from the usual places I have been. I liked that I was allowed an early check in, but most places do that,
Dislikes:
I did not like to have to hang around for an hour, when there was another room available. It was far too cold, and too noisy. Maye checking the temparature when the heating is on, in freezing tempera

Sincere apologies. The radiator thermostat was not fully open and the room had a temperature of 19.5 degrees C. Our location does mean that there is some traffic noise during the day. We were not notified about early check in ( guest rang at 9 am for access. Maybe notify the guest house on making the booking? ) so to save further waiting for the single room to become available, we upgraded the guest to a double room. Heaters are available on request. No opportunity given to offer before leaving.

single room door opened to musty smell, pillows flat as they were old. duvet cover had stains so did not sleep under it. wardrobe no door and tatty so was the cupboard/mirror. Did not use them.

The proprietress was very pleasant but dressed in an old stained vest she did not give a good first impression.

The Blackbirds is currently undertaking a big refurbishment which we are having to do ourselves, hence sometimes we appear in our painting clothes. Due to the current ecconomic climate we are unable to close whilst this is going on, we appologise for any inconvenience caused by this.

The hosts were lovely and the off road parking was a requirement for us.
Dislikes:
The room was cold. In the winter it would have been heated but this was summer and the room was on the shaded side of the property.
Bed sunk in the middle.

I must apologise to our guests for not checking the thermostat on the radiator. Previous guests had turned it off as they were too warm!
